2010 Launch Date: Bringing New Technologies to the Marine & Other Industries

Atlantic Composites is a manufacturing company based in Donegal.  We are leaders in RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boats) manufacturing using new technologies in our state of the art facility on the Gweedore Industrial Estate. We launch to market in early 2010 however in the interim we welcome your calls and enquiries. 

Our RIBs are manufactured using a process called Vacuum Infusion. We are the only boat manufacturing company in Ireland using this process.  This process gives the optimum glass to resin ratio resulting in a lighter, stronger structure, that is more resistant to osmosis, de-lamination, and structural fatigue.  The finished quality is excellent and can be repeated exponentially.     

This technology drags traditional fibreglass/composite manufacturing into the 21st century which means that the manufacture is now a process as opposed to a skill. The design is a result of strenuous sea trials off the west coast of Ireland.  Using the data obtained during these trials the Atlantic Rib was subsequently designed and manufactured.  

Our hulls are designed using Computer Aided Design (CAD); meanwhile the moulds are manufactured using 5-axis CNC milling machines for the plug from which our moulds are cast.  This design process is unique to Atlantic Composites' range of RIBs.  

This process is not exclusive to hull production and is suitably adaptable to all types of composite manufacturing.  Composite components hold a number of advantages over some of the traditional material used throughout the industry i.e. aluminium, wood or steel.  These advantages include weight, relative strength, corrosion resistance and the ability to be moulded into complex shapes.  

We are an approved repair facility, having such prestigious suppliers on board such as Suzuki, Yamaha, Garmin, iCOM and Scott Marine Seating.  We undertake all types of structural and cosmetic repairs including fibre-glass, gel-coat, electrical, diagnostics and tube repair/re-fit.
